I feel so honoured to have been included in the nominations for the JDRF UK (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Sports Personality of the Year Award amongst these inspirational players, and the only woman too (Girl power!). It's been a privilege and a pleasure over the past decade to show people with and without the condition, that you can still achieve in sport despite having type 1 diabetes... Just look at my blog! And now my sporting career has begun to develop into encouraging European Parliaments to support people with chronic conditions in their active pursuits.
