New Insulin Could Help Hypos

Today a new insulin was revealed that could help reduce the amount of night time hypos that some people have. The insulin is being made by Novo Nordisk and is called Tresiba. The difference between this insulin and others is that the action span apparently lasts 40 hours. Opposed to the normal 18- 26 hours of other basal insulins.

Night time hypos are at best frustrating and at worst a dangerous part of having diabetes. So hopefully this insulin, which some believe would only need to be injected 3 times a week could really make a positive change to diabetes care.
